Education Week – Every student, every voice
01 Aug 2019
Let’s celebrate student voice and NSW public education in #EdWeek19.
9:30 AM-1:00 PM
Kingsgrove Public School is offering a fantastic opportunity for our Stage 3 Aboriginal students to participate in Yarn Up. This program aims to provide opportunities for Aboriginal students to develop skills in impromptu speaking, public speaking, debating & positive feedback. Yarn Up is part of a series of transition programs run by the Aboriginal Education and Wellbeing Team specifically targeting Aboriginal students in order to involve them in school life and see them grow in confidence as they prepare to move on to high school. The program will run over three days.
Stage 2 Classes, 3B, 3LF, 4H and 4P, will be participating in an incursion, ‘Planetarium’ where the students will be immersed in a stunning 360° movie. They will take a trip through the solar system and onwards to the very edge of our galaxy and then come back down to earth to find out what’s in the sky. This incursion has been planned as part of the curriculum and learning in Science & Technology.
