5 road safety tips for parents and carers

Use our tips to chat with your child about safe road behaviours when walking or commuting to school.
Kindergarten will be participating in an incursion in Week 8 of this term on Thursday 21 March. Supreme Incursions will attend our school and present activities on the Caroline Street site. The students will be learning about Toys from the past and relating them to the toys of today. This Incursion has been planned as part of the curriculum and learning in History and Science.
The School Photographer will be taking photographs for both sites on Monday, 8 April 2019. Children are asked to wear correct school summer uniform. Portraits, class groups, School Captains, House Captains and Prefects will be photographed on this day but Sports and Group photographs will be taken at a later date. Photographs are taken on a pre-paid system and a note and envelope will be sent home with your child. Please complete the envelope indicating which package you would like and enclose the correct money (NO CHANGE CAN BE GIVEN). Please return the envelope to the school on or before the day the photographs will be taken. All payments will be made to The School Photographer. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SCHOOL’S PARENT ONLINE PAYMENT (POP) SYSTEM. You can make an online payment by visiting www.theschoolphotographer.com.au and quoting our school’s online code: X1045PSB40K. Credit card payments can be made through the company’s website. The payment reference is required on the payment envelope. Please Note: Cheques are no longer accepted. Parents are able to view the photographs at The School Photographer website using the abovementioned online code. The photographs will also be displayed in the Kingsgrove Road canteen area and the foyer of the Caroline Street campus. Please note: Any orders placed after school photographs have been delivered to the school will incur a $15.00 handling fee (includes postage). The annual school cross country carnival will take place on Tuesday, 9 April 2019 and will be held at school on the school oval. The Cross Country carnival is an important part of the PDHPE curriculum and all students are expected to attend as it is still a normal school day. All classes and teachers on the Kingsgrove Road Campus will participate in the Carnival. As the Carnival will be held at school, there is no cost to be paid. Parents and friends are welcome to attend. The carnival will begin at 11.30am. Recess will be held at normal time where students will have the opportunity to have a short break and a light snack. Children are to wear sports uniform with warm clothing and protective gear according to the weather. All Students are to wear their school hat and have a drink bottle for the event. Children will need to bring their own lunch or purchase from the school canteen.
In order to commemorate ANZAC Day this year, Kingsgrove Public School will be holding two services on Thursday, 11 April 2018. The details for these services are as follows: K-2 Caroline St Service: 10.00 am under the COLA (in case of wet weather to be held in the library) 3-6 Kingsgrove Rd Service: 10.30 am in the Kingsgrove Road hall If you wish, you may send a small offering of flowers or rosemary with your child for the service. Parents and family are welcome to attend the service. Thank you for your support.
K-2 students will be showcasing their creativity at the Easter hat parade on Friday 12 April. The P&C will also be drawing an Easter raffle on the day, with tickets sold for $1 each. K-2 classes to asked to support the school by donating items for the hampers including: Chocolate eggs Chocolate bunnies Easter craft items Other Easter related items
