Year 2 school swimming and safety program 2019

The Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program is an intensive learn to swim program, which develops water confidence and provides students with basic skills in water safety and survival. The scheme will be conducted over nine days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes.

Each student should wear their swimming costume under their school uniform. In a carry bag (i.e. not a plastic bag) all students must bring a hat and suitable shirt (either a rash shirt or plain T-shirt), as well as a towel and adequate sun protection, e.g., an SPF 30+ broad spectrum water resistant sunscreen to be re-applied regularly. All students must bring dry underwear to change into after their daily swimming lesson. Students will be assessed during the School Swimming Scheme for all water safety skills without wearing goggles.
