Assistance available

Parent information that is relevant for your child’s education is available in English and other community languages.

Interpreter service

Parents and carers who don’t speak English well and deaf parents and carers who use sign language, can get assistance from the telephone interpreter service. An interpreter can be requested for school matters involving your child such as enrolment, subject choice, educational progress, attendance, welfare or behaviour. Interpreters can also be requested for parent-teacher interviews, school meetings, school council meetings, and parents and citizens meetings.

The telephone number to call is 131 450. Ask for an interpreter for the required language and the interpreter will call our school and stay on the line to assist you with your conversation. You will not be charged for this service. Parents and carers who need an interpreter to attend a school meeting should let us know.

Student assistance funds

Where families may be experiencing financial difficulties they may contact the principal or deputy principal to discuss some financial assistance for basic school costs such as text books, excursions and some programs.

Centrelink child care benefit

Families using outside of school hours care may be eligible to claim for this child care benefit to help with these costs.

School student transport scheme

The school student transport scheme provides subsidised travel to and from school for eligible students on rail, bus, ferry and long distance coach services. A subsidy is also available for transport to and from a public transport pick up point in private vehicles, in areas where there is no public transport.

Assisted school travel program

The assisted school travel program helps eligible students with a disability to travel to and from school safely.
